Half way to 1 year!

My little peanut is already 6 months old! It seriously feels like he was just born. (That is not a lie. Seriously, some days my vagina still hurts. hahaha)

Little man's 6 months stats were 13lbs 10oz and 26.25 inches. Ethan is a very long, but very skinny peanut!

Peanut is eating like crazy - 2 containers of baby food and/or baby yogurt in the morning and 2 in the evening. (And yet this kid still is skinny!!) Favorites so far include bananas, applesauce, blueberries and baby food's version of spaghetti and meat sauce (yuck! - but he likes it.)

I am enjoying every second with my little man, even the nights he won't go to sleep till midnight and I have to rock him to sleep for an hour. Time has gone so quickly and it scares me how fast the next 6 months are going to go. Soon we will be celebrating his first Thanksgiving and first Hanukkah and Christmas. And yes, I have already started shopping for "Santa" and Daddy is a little worried Mommy may not stop shopping till Christmas Eve. I cannot make any promises. :)

Ethan has just figured out how to sit up, so I know crawling, standing and even more scary, walking is to come. I guess this means we should start baby proofing the house? :/

I told you he enjoys eating.

New Mommy Slacker - Ethan's Birth Story

I know, I know. I have been very very very bad at updating this blog. I guess being a new Mommy has taken over my life. As promised, here is (a short version of) Ethan's birth story!

May 5th 2:00pm - Mommy has officially accepted Ethan will not be coming early. Decides to bake cookies and do laundry.
May 5th 3:00pm - Finishes cookies and turns oven off. Lays on couch to watch some tv and wait for nothing to happen. Mommy then thinks she has lost all bladder control and peed herself. Realizes that is a lot of pee and thinks "Oh! I think my water broke!"
May 5th 3:05pm - Mommy calls Daddy and tells him Ethan is making his arrival and let's get this show on the road!
May 5th 4:30pm - After a quick visit to the Doctor's office to confirm water has definitely broken, Mommy and Daddy check in to the hospital. Mommy is hooked up to monitors and pitocin is started due to Mommy's contractions never starting on their own.
May 5th (Around 6:30pm) - Mommy has had enough of this contraction stuff and requests epidural.
May 5th 45 mins later - After 3 attempts to get epidural into Mommy's back, she finally gets some relief and wants to marry Anesthesiologist.
May 5th Around 11pm? - (Timing is now fuzzy for Mommy at this point.) Mommy begins pushing. This takes a lot longer and is a lot harder then she thought.
May 6th 2:32am - Ethan Jacob Dabbeekeh is born!! (Yes - there was a lot that happened between the start of pushing and Ethan's arrival, but it all kind of mushes together 7 weeks out.)
May 6th 2:33am - Mommy cannot believe she just did that. Daddy cannot believe Mommy just did that and they both survived it!!!

Mommy right after Ethan was born!! Still in shock!!!
